A Boutique for a Birthday

Hannah and Jozsef have birthdays exactly one week apart.  They love this fact.  Every year they choose to celebrate together in some way.  Hannah likes to tell Jozsef that he should go on her birthday activity with her because he is her best brother.  Yep, she's given him that title.  But let's just be really honest here, he's earned it.  That boy loves her and shows it and she's no fool.  :-)  So naturally, when it came time for Hannah to pick who would share her day, it was Jozsef who got into the car with us.

Hannah had a really relaxed day planned, and the only detour was a job interview that we took Jozsef to.  She didn't mind one bit waiting for him.  She and I played cards and listened to music while we waited.

After the interview, we went out for lunch followed by a trip to Three Sisters Boutique.  I had, months ago, randomly stopped at this little boutique when Hannah was with me.  Apparently, she was awe struck by the little girl's section of the store and she decided she just had to go back--so we did.  A thunder storm swept through the area while we were en route and by the time we arrived and parked, the rain was coming down so fiercely that it literally looked like someone had placed a hose on the roof of our van and turned it on.  Buckets of rain fell, the wind whipped, the sky lit up and boomed and we waited in the car for the storm cell to pass.  There would be no ducking into the store under those conditions.  About 20 minutes later, we opened the car doors to a river of water flowing all around us in the parking lot.  Our feet were soaked, but that was all, and we made it safely into the store.

Hannah browsed contentedly and carefully shopped for the doll that would be going home with her.  She was delighted when the sales clerks wished her a happy birthday and then thoughtfully wrapped her doll up in a colorful package for Hannah to carry home.  We had a very happy girl on our hands.  Thank you Three Sisters staff!  :-)
After a bit of shopping, it was time for a coffee break.  I dare say I've rubbed off on my kids.  Almost all of them love a good coffee break as much as I do.  :-)  Sadly, we don't have very many mom and pop coffee cafes here, so it was off to Starbucks to fill our coffee fix.  Hannah and Jozsef made a toast to another blessed year.

After browsing a couple of shops next door to Starbucks, we went home for dinner, cake, and gifts.  Hannah chose a Firecracker cake--red, white and blue--with Wonder Woman on it for her celebration.  Did you notice her dress?  She called it her Wonder Woman dress.  It's a tutu dress with glittery stars on the skirt and a big red, white, and blue star on the front of the top.  Wonder Woman was her Halloween costume too.  It's fair to say Hannah likes Wonder Woman--a lot. :-)  And I loved that she paired her red lace up boots with her dress--she's got spunk.  :-)

Despite the rain, it was a beautiful day!  I often marvel at the Lord's blessing of Hannah for us.  I love that the girls are so different--the blond and the brunette, the body shapes, the personalities.  It's almost like He gave us the best of both worlds between them and we are most thankful.  Happy Birthday baby girl!  We love you!
