Reading Rewards

Every year since Jozsef was in third grade and we were introduced to Read to Succeed, the kids have enjoyed an annual summer trip to Six Flags.  Through all of the years and all of the moves, we have been blessed to be in decent driving distance to a park so that the kids can participate in this great program.  The trip is a coveted tradition in our household.  This year, Hannah aged in and John had more kids than ever before to shepherd through the park.  Grandma made the task a little easier by sponsoring Nikolas' participation.  John was very thankful for the extra help and they all had a wonderful day exploring a new park with fresh shows and ride thrills.

We weren't sure how Hannah would do.  She's usually the first to express physical exhaustion on long family outings, and she'd never been on a roller coaster before so we weren't sure how daring she would be.  The gang was happy to find out that Hannah is fairly adventurous and she was game for most everything she qualified for.  She did express a distaste for a ride called the Mindbender and that ride quickly taught John her limits, which made it bad and good that they took that ride early on in the day. It seems John's pre-trip planning and preparation with the kids paid off in his ability to cater to the crowd he had and to insure that they got the best bang for their bucks.
We all decided that this photo won the title of Action Shot of the Day.  There's so much going on in this photo and it's wonderful.
Lots of big drinks were necessary for the long hot day

Wonder Woman is her favorite so she was pretty happy to have Diana highlighted at the park

Though it's not all about Bruce, he still got a lot of attention :-)

It's not spelled the same, but Riley easily took ownership of this :-)

These two--they're buddies.  Truly.  They may not speak it, but they act it, every day.  And they have for years.  I love their relationship

The big pizza has become a lunch tradition that the kids look forward to

Last Ride of the Night
They hit 20 rides!  And they saw three shows.  It was an amazing day and I'm so thankful that they are able to go and have this experience.  Here's to more good summer memories in the bank!  :-)
